Octoberfest 2026
Start is 19th August until 4th October: We will reserve tables in one of the big beer tents for Sunday evening 4th October.
So, if you want to share this event, you have to arrive the weekend before the congress! And you have to book as early as possible, because flights, hotels and places in the tents are usually booked out very long before the event – comparable to Carnival in Rio.
Driving experience
Joachim von Finckenstein will organize a driving experience Thursday Oct. 8th before the congress.
Dining
There are three Michelin guide restaurants and numerous other restaurants around the lake, serving local specialties and international food.
Shopping
In Rottach-Egern you will find a great variety of shops for fashion, sports, jewelry, traditional Bavarian costumes, interior design, perfume and many more. If that’s not enough, you can go shopping in Munich, just an hour away by taxi or railway.
Wellness
All of the better hotels offer high end Spas and Wellness for every taste.
Culture
There is the small but fine Gulbransson Museum in Tegernsee with changing collections of modern art.
From Rottach-Egern you can visit all the famous castles of King Ludwig II like Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee, Linderhof or Baroque churches like Wieskirche or Kloster Ettal either individually with a rented car or with a guided tour (about 1,5 hours away).
Munich or Salzburg with their historic towns and buildings, museums, concert and opera halls, sport events and trendy quarters are just one hour away.
Sports
Golf: There is a famous and difficult 18-hole course in Bad Wiessee (10 min away) and about 5 other courses in the general area where international golf events take place every year.
Hiking: In the surrounding mountains and at the lakeside you can find numerous excursions, from simple 15-minute walks to breathtaking daylong climbing tours.
A cable car runs to the top of Rottach-Egerns house hill Wallberg with a panoramic view restaurant on the top.
Mountain Bike: There are many bike and sport shops in town where to rent ebikes, mountain bikes or race bikes to climb the mountains or surround the lake.
Paragliding: We have a paragliding school in town where you can book adventurous tandem flights
